Ohio Flags of Honor Traveling Memorial (July 2nd-5th)
Ohio Flags of Honor will present their traveling memorial to pay tribute to Ohio’s fallen soldiers on the campus of Madison Christian Church July 2nd-5th. The memorial specifically honors those fallen in the Wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the War on Terrorism since September 11, 2001.
Madison Christian Church is looking for 300 volunteers to carry flags during the opening ceremony on July 3rd at 2pm. This event is a great opportunity for the Madison Christian School family to partner with MCC to show our support for Ohio’s fallen soldiers and their families. Groveport Fourth of July Parade (July 3rd)
The Groveport Fourth of July Parade will be on Saturday, July 3rd at 11am and Madison Christian Church/School will be participating with a float in the parade. Volunteers are needed to ride on the float or walk along with the float and hand out candy and MCC/MCS information.
Volunteers participating in the parade should come to the Groveport Recreation Center by 10:30am and find the MCC/MCS float. Shuttles will be running from the Groveport Madison Middle School South parking lot to the Recreation Center from 8-10:30am. The parade will conclude at Glendening Elementary/Groveport Madison Middle School South and shuttles will be available to return participants. For additional information, click here.
For parade spectators, a shuttle bus service will also be provided by the City of Groveport to and from the Madison Christian Church campus.
Schedule of Events
Friday, July 2nd:
- 7am-12pm Ohio Flags of Honor setup at MCC
- 12pm Ohio Flags of Honor display open to the public until the closing ceremony on Monday afternoon
Saturday, July 3rd
- 9am Ohio Flags of Honor Memorial Truck Escort beginning at Eastland Mall and ending at MCC
- 11am Groveport Fourth of July Parade
- 2pm Ohio Flags of Honor Opening Ceremony at MCC
Monday, July 5th
- 11:50am Ohio Flags of Honor Closing Ceremony
