Jillian Kemper, a 2018 graduate of Madison Christian School, was recently named a member of the Homecoming Court at The Ohio State University. Court members are chosen based on their leadership qualities, spirit, integrity, and achievement through their contributions and involvement at OSU.
While at MCS, Jillian was involved in Cross Country, Track, Cheer, ELE (Eagle Leadership Experience), National Honor Society, and was Student Council President her senior year. When asked how her time at MCS helped to prepare her, she said, “Some may look at attending a small school as a disadvantage; it can actually be advantageous because it is less competitive to be part of a sport or an organization. It allowed me to be involved in many different activities and gave me a greater opportunity for growth.” Jillian also said that being a part of the various activities, as well as keeping up with her academics, helped her greatly with time management in the college setting.
Jillian shared that one important aspect of MCS was the mentoring relationships she was able to build with teachers and staff members. She felt “known” and was comfortable stopping in to have conversations. This, in turn, helped as she moved on to OSU and was able to gain a network of people and build those valued relationships all over campus.
Jillian will graduate in the spring of 2022 with a degree in Business Administration and a specialization in Operations Management.
