Madison Christian School recently participated in the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Day of Prayer.
Our elementary students kicked off the Day of Prayer with chapel where students were challenged to pray for others, praise God, and see what can happen when we go to the Lord in prayer. There were 4 prayer stations the students were able to participate in this year:
Prayer for Healing: Students could write the names of people they knew who needed physical healing on bandaids. The students then put the bandaids on a large piece of paper on the wall in the chapel and then could spend time praying for those people.
Praises through God’s Word: Students were given verses from scripture that were printed out and they could spend time praying the scriptures of praise to God as they placed them on a string.
Prayers and Confessions: Students were able to write out prayer requests and confessions on sticky notes and place those requests and confessions on a cross. Students then spent time praying for the prayer requests that others had written.
Praising God: Students were invited to write words of praise on beads. We are stringing those beads together and we will display them in the elementary building as a way to remember to always pray prayers of praise to our Savior.
Our junior high and high school students participated by having a focus on prayer in their Bible classes.
Additionally, we were blessed to have over 25 parents sign up to pray for our school throughout the day.
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
