Early Education (Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten)

FORGING A FOUNDATION IN WONDER

eagle in nest
Our primary goal at this age is to help children experience the fun and joy that lead to an early excitement about learning. Set on a 64-acre campus in southeast Columbus, our early education program allows children to explore the wonder of God’s works and His Word under the care of our qualified teachers. Madison Christian School's Preschool is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education Division of Early Childhood Education.

The preschool years are crucial because they represent a critical period of rapid brain development where children establish foundational skills in language, social interaction, cognitive abilities, and self-regulation. Our Christian preschool promotes this development in a safe, Christ-centered environment and ensures a fluid transition into kindergarten.

"We have worked hard to build the bridge from our Eagles Nest Preschool to our Kindergarten to ensure our students are academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually prepared for the transition." - Alice Brooks, Primary School Principal

What to Expect

Our youngest Eagles are curious about the world and we seek to immerse them in the wonder of God’s works and His Word. Young children love to collect facts and delight in repeating words and phrases they hear. Our teachers take students on a journey of integrated subjects through art, songs, and stories – filling their minds with a feast of good things. It is in these formative years that students are acquiring the habits of learning such as growing in attentiveness, learning to read, communicating effectively, following directions, and engaging appropriately with their teachers and peers.

What We Believe

Madison Christian School teachers and staff believe children are a precious gift from the Lord. Psalm 127:3 states “Sons (and daughters) are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.”

Eagles Nest exists for the following purposes:
  • To teach children God's love and His works: Bible stories, character qualities of Christ, songs, and scripture are emphasized daily.
  • To develop self-worth: "You are special because God made you!"
  • To increase verbal skills by encouraging children to use words when interacting with others.
  • To introduce academic readiness skills: Students are exposed to many learning experiences and mastery of each skill comes when the child is developmentally ready.
  • To develop a positive attitude toward school and learning.
